Becoming A Christian

The Scriptures convey the profound love God has for humanity. It is His desire that each person should turn away from sinfulness and embrace the gift of salvation He offers—a gift freely given out of grace (as detailed in Ephesians 2:8-9). When we understand that Jesus Christ embodies God's grace meant for our salvation, it is through faith that we respond to this divine truth.

  • We believe that Jesus is the Christ; the Son of the Living God. (Mark 16:16; John 20:31; Acts 16:31)

  • We repent our sins and turn to Jesus. (Matthew 4:17; Mark 2:17; Acts 2:37, 38; 3:19; 17:30)

  • We acknowledge (confess) Jesus before men. (Matthew 10:32, 33; Romans 10:9; Philippians 2:10, 11)

  • We are baptized by immersion into Jesus for the remission of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38; 8:36-39; 22:16; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12)

  • We rise to walk in a faithful and righteous life with Christ. (I Peter 1:3-9; 2:1-3; Revelation 2:10)
